About the Woman's Guild

The PCEA Woman's Guild is a fellowship of Christian women and girls, founded on the biblical principles of Romans 12:11-13. Originally established in Kenya in 1922 to guide young girls towards Christianity and empowerment, the Guild has grown into one of the most vibrant organizations within the PCEA.

Vision: To be an inclusive Christian women's organization that holistically empowers women to transform society.

Our Mission

To holistically empower Christian women and girls to effectively transform society through:

  • Worship and fellowship
  • Networking and partnerships
  • Advocacy and communication
  • Resource mobilization, research, and training based on Christian values
What We Do
  • Provide mentorship programs for women and girls
  • Organize prayers, Bible study, and social gatherings
  • Visit the sick and assist the disadvantaged
  • Conduct seminars on women empowerment, stress management, and spiritual maturity
  • Support church decoration and special church events

Step 1

Joining the Fellowship

Expression of Interest

What's Involved:

  • Be a committed lady or girl in the PCEA church
  • Express desire to join the Woman's Guild
  • Begin actively fellowshipping with existing Guild members

You Will:

  • Participate in Guild meetings and activities
  • Learn the Guild's traditions and values
  • Be mentored by commissioned members
Step 2

Two-Year Probation

Active Fellowship Period

What's Involved:

  • Fellowship actively with Guild members for two years
  • Demonstrate commitment through consistent participation
  • Grow spiritually and socially within the fellowship
  • Show exemplary Christian character

You Will:

  • Deepen your knowledge of Guild principles
  • Build lasting bonds with fellow members
  • Prepare for commissioning
Step 3

Commissioning

Full Membership

What's Involved:

  • Completion of the two-year probation period
  • Recommendation by the local Guild committee
  • Approval by the Parish Minister or Moderator

What Happens:

  • Dedicated in a special church ceremony by the minister
  • Receive the Guild head-scarf as a symbol of commitment
  • Become a fully commissioned member of the Woman's Guild
